Creating Awareness of the Pelvic Floor through Movement

This workshop is designed to educate about the female pelvis and assist women to create a more loving relationship with their pelvis, through the use of breath and movement.

The foundation of human movement lies within the pelvis.  The pelvic floor muscles work to maintain a delicate balance of strength and softness to respond to the demands of our daily lives.  The surrounding muscles of the pelvis assist in stabilizing the pelvis so the pelvic floor muscles can work properly.

Due to life events, alignment habits, and emotional experiences it is not uncommon for this equilibrium to be disrupted, which can result in pelvic floor dysfunctions.

Self-Awareness, breath and movement can be tools to assist in restoring the vitality of the pelvis.  Learning to use these tools to soften and stretch the deep pelvic floor musculature and to strengthen and stabilize the inner and outer pelvis can be pivotal in restoring the health and function of our pelvic floor.

When: Fall 2023

The Pelvic Floor Workshop I attended with Carmen provided a wealth of knowledge in a safe environment. The course flowed well, allowing information to build and provided opportunities to explore concepts in our own bodies. I was able to walk away with knowledge that could very easily be added into my yoga teaching, as well as my own daily life. Carmen provided a welcoming and safe environment that encouraged real conversation as she shared her passion for educating women about pelvic floor health. I would highly recommend this empowering course to all women.

Carmen’s Pelvic Floor Workshop was done in a small group, in a nurturing safe environment. The health of the pelvis is a neglected part of education, including yoga teacher training, yet so vitally important to every woman’s wellbeing and sense of self. I consider myself fortunate to have attended this workshop as I feel better educated, able to help myself and refer others to resources I did not know about. I am looking forward to continuing my studies with Carmen, as I realize there is so much more to know about this complex topic. Thank you Carmen.
